Formal Dinner to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the founding 1371 Girvan and 137 Ayr and Prestwick Squadrons of the Air Training Corps - Saturday 24th September 2016

The Lord-Lieutenant and Mrs Duncan attended a formal dinner to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the founding of 1371 Girvan and 137 Ayr and Prestwick Squadrons of the Air Training Corps on Saturday 24th September.

The dinner was held in the very apt setting of the Malin Court Hotel, Maidens, which is located immediately adjacent to the site of the former air station RAF Turnberry. RAF Turnberry was used as a school of Aerial Gunnery during both world wars.

During the Dinner, Flight Lieutenant Stuart Leslie was presented with a Certificate of Meritorious Service by the Lord-Lieutenant to recognise his contribution to the Air Training Corps over many years.
