Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales and The Royal Foundation, with grateful thanks to the Dean and Chapter of Westminster Abbey, held a Carol Service at Westminster Abbey, on Friday 5th December. This annual occasion is a special moment to bring together people from across the UK and thank those who have gone above and beyond to support others in their communities during the past year.

 

The theme of this years’ Service was love and celebrating the power that it has to connect us all. Love is seen in many forms in our communities every day; whether through the care we show one another and the time we spend with those who matter most to us; to sharing precious moments in the natural world; being creative and doing things that bring us joy; the kindness and understanding of strangers; those who volunteer their time to support vulnerable people; or simply being present in the moment with one another. Love is the core of life itself and is essential for helping to build a more connected and compassionate world. To mark this theme, the Abbey was filled with hundreds of people from all corners of the UK, including a number of individuals from Ayrshire who were invited in recognition of the amazing work that they do in our communities.
