Vice Lord Lieutenant, William Stafford was a guest at the opening of Galston Town Hall on Friday 3rd July 2026. The formal opening was carried out by Cllr Douglas Reid, Leader of East Ayrshire Council. The Project which cost in the region of £3.5 million has resulted in a community asset which has carefully preserved the traditional Baronial style and character of the building, which dates to 1925, and which prior to the works was in a very poor state of repair.

 Internally the focus was on the preservation of the first-floor Council Chamber which featured a large fireplace bearing the carved crest of Galston Burgh Council (pictured below) and decorative ceiling. The former chambers will now be used for community events, functions and as a wedding venue
