North Ayrshire Council, Civic Pride Awards 2018 – Friday 16th March

Deputy Lieutenant Matt Smith, pictured below with Provost Iain Clarkson, represented the Lord-Lieutenant at the North Ayrshire Civic Pride Award Ceremony. The glittering event was held for the first time in the new Portal building in Irvine on Friday 16th March.
The Charity Dinner was not only a celebration of the talent and community spirit that exists in North Ayrshire but also raised over £17,500 for two local charities, Cash for Kids and the Ayrshire Hospice. Since the annual event started eight years ago over £150,000 has been raised for charity.
At the close of the evening Provost Clarkson said: “It’s been a fantastic night to celebrate our amazing finalists and a wonderful tribute to their hard work anddedication. Sometimes, the work of those who enrich our communities can go unnoticed so it is a pleasure to be able to shine a light on their efforts and honour their work.
“We are fortunate to have so many wonderful people whose dedication and enthusiasm have had a positive impact on the lives of local people. Everyone who has been involved in the Civic Pride Awards – including the winners, finalists and nominees – should be very proud of their achievements.”
