Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee – Funding Opportunities

As we approach 2022, it is understood that a number of community groups and organisations have already started planning events to celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. Funding can be an issue for events of this nature and therefore the following information may be helpful.

I am advised that there are two National Lottery Community Funds available for applications by community groups to support Jubilee celebrations.

1) The first is The Platinum Jubilee Fund - www.tnlcommunityfund.org/uk/funding/programmes/the-platinum-jubilee-fund which is open to applications until 15 December 2021. This programme will fund 70 projects across the UK. Groups can apply for between £330,000 and £350,000 and projects will need to focus on one or more of the following areas:

Across Generations - Strengthening relationships between generations and creating a legacy for future generations.

Community Renewal - Supporting new opportunities for people to develop skills and experiences in their local community, as well as opportunities to bring people together in new ways, and in new or different places and spaces.

Our Shared Natural World - Deepening our care and action locally for the natural world.

       2) The second is through the National Lottery Awards for All programme - www.tnlcommunityfund.org.uk/funding/programmes/national-lottery-awards
-for-all-scotland (no deadline for applications).
This is an existing smaller grants programme (funding up to £310,000) which can support a range of community led activity.  Applications for events and activities which celebrate Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee will be considered where the activity meets one of the standard Awards for All aims, which are:

*       bringing people together and building relationships in and across communities
*       improving places and spaces that matter to communities
*       help people reach their full potential by supporting them at an early stage

Further details on both programmes and how to apply are on the National Lottery website via the links above. There are eight area funding teams covering Scotland who will be happy to discuss applications with groups before they apply - the best way for groups to get in touch initially is through the advice line on 0300 123 7110 or by email at advicescotland@tnlcommunityfund.org.uk  where enquiries will be directed to the funding team for the required area.
