Resplendent in dress uniform, Deputy Lieutenant Major David Dickson represented the Lord-Lieutenant at the Glasgow Taxi Outing to Troon on 21st June .He joined South Ayrshire Provost Iain Campbell and Depute Provost Mary Kilpatrick and the Lord Provost of Glasgow Jaqueline McLaren to welcome the outing to Troon. This amazing event, now in its 76th year, brings together Glasgow taxi drivers who generously offer their services to take children with additional support needs on an unforgettable trip to the seaside. 

 

This year over 100 decorated taxis and 300 children took part.

 

Major Dickson said “ I would like to thank the organisers , the taxi trade from Glasgow ,Troon Community Council, Police Scotland and the community of Troon for making this event possible and for their ongoing support. I know that it means so much to all concerned and long may it continue into the future”
