Deputy Lieutenant Major David Dickson recently visited Symington Primary School and spoke to the children about the Coronation,and his personal memories of the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II when he was a young boy in Malaysia where his father was a serving soldier.  He also told them about meeting The Queen and the then Prince Charles at Balmoral in the early seventies when he was a member of the Royal Guard.

Major Dickson also spoke of his duties as a member of The Kings Royal Bodyguard in Scotland. 

The pupils showed great interest and asked some excellent questions.
