80th Anniversary of VJ Day – Girvan – 16th August 2025

 Organised by Ritchie and Lorna Conaghan the 80th Anniversary of VJ Day was commemorated in the Community Gardens in Girvan on Saturday 16th August.. The Lord Lieutenant, and the local MP and MSP were joined by members of the community to enjoy an afternoon tea and to hear stories of local soldiers who had been involved in the conflict. Fittingly, music from the era was played in the background.
