75th Glasgow Taxi Trade outing to Troon 2022

The Lord Lieutenant recently took part in the 75th Glasgow Taxi Trade outing to Troon. Along with the Provost of South Ayrshire, Cllr Iain Campbell, local dignitaries, and representatives of the taxi trade they welcomed over 300 children with special needs from Glasgow to Troon for a day at the seaside. The Taxis meet in Kelvin Way Glasgow and are driven through Glasgow City Centre for a parade before heading to Troon. This year more than 120 taxis took part.
The taxi outing, which is free of charge for the families involved, began in the wake of the Second World War in 1947 and has continued ever since.
