100th Birthday – Vice Admiral Sir Thomas Baird KCB DL – 17th May 2024

Vice Admiral Sir Thomas Baird KCB DL, known as Tom to his friends and family, celebrated his 100th Birthday on Friday 17th May at his home near Symington. Tom served in the Royal Navy during World War 2 and then had a distinguished career culminating in him being Flag Officer, Scotland and Northern Ireland before retiring in 1982.
Tom still leads a very active life - he plays golf regularly at Prestwick Golf Club and is a nifty player of croquet and carpet bowls at his home.
For many years he served as a Deputy Lieutenant to the Lord Lieutenant and remains on the Supernumerary List.
He has a daughter Sarah a son Jamie and a fleet of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He received a 100th Birthday card from their Majesties, The King and Queen, on his birthday.
Tom is pictured above with his much loved spaniel, Victoria.
